Cyber crimes are on the rise in the country. The concerned departments creating awareness among people and urging them to be alert is not giving any fruitful outcome. More and more people are becoming victims of cyber traps and losing money. The increase in smartphone users is also said to be a reason.

Now sensational details about the Cybercrimes in Telangana came out which says that in the span of two years, victims lost as many as Rs 600 crores in different cases. The data is taken since June 2021.

The data said that daily hundreds of complaints are being registered in this regard and in two years massive 1,27,144 complaints were registered on cyber crimes in the state. In total, victims lost around Rs 587.95 crores due to the cyber crimes.

As the amount lost in the crimes is quite high, many doubt the recovery percentage. But the percentage is not that great as only Rs 12 lakhs were recovered. This is less than five percent which is a big concern.

The data tells how busy Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TSCSB) is dealing with the complaints. The helpline number of the center has been busy with calls and complaints regularly.

As many as 2.64 lakh victims are there in the state and 1.27 lakh victims of them moved the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) in this regard. While Rs 587 crores were lost, 79 crores of them were frozen and only Rs 12 lakhs were refunded to the victims.
