The stage was set for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Vizag tour. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made many requests to Modi on the Dias and stressed how the state was affected due to bifurcation. From the Special Category Status to the Vizag Steel Plant to the Railway Zone the Chief Minister mentioned many things in his speech. Jagan said the state will not forget everything the Centre grants.
Usually, many expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give a positive reaction to the demands. Surprisingly, Modi's speech did not have any such mentions. The Prime Minister concluded his speech by mentioning the details he wanted to say.
Modi gave details of various details including the welfare schemes and developmental works. But his speech did not have any details of things asked by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. As Modi addressed the gathering from Vizag, many expected that he might talk about the Vizag Steel Plant. No one has an answer why Modi did not talk about the Steel plant as people are fighting for the steel plant.
It appears that the Prime Minister decided to not talk about the Vizag special category status and that is why he did not talk about it despite the government making multiple requests and appeals he chose not to talk about it during his speech.
The prestigious Polavaram project is a national project and the project has to get the budget and get finished. But there is no update or announcement on this from the Union government and Prime Minister. It is known that farmers in Amaravati are fighting for the capital city and the responsibility of helping the state to have a capital lies with the Centre.
But all these things were missing in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech. All he said in the speech is how good Andhra Pradesh people are. People here will see prosperity. What the PM did in his speech was to praise the Telugu community.
While AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy mentioned the issues that are pending in the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not talk about those concluding his speech leaving all those issues and demands. The discussion on whether the party took AP lightly was also started.
