PM Modi Gets Time To Discuss Manipur Violence Finally?

Update: 2023-06-27 14:36 GMT
Manipur has been burning for the past two months. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who kept his silence on the issue had finally got time to review the situation. After returning from America and Egypt tours, Narendra Modi held a review on the Manipur issue as per the government sources. Modi is believed to have discussed the report submitted by the Manipur Chief Minister, Intelligence report, and Military Intelligence reports during the review. On the reservation aspects, Manipur has been burning for two months. Dozens of people died and hundreds of people sustained serious injuries.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah went to Narendra Modi's house and explained the situation. He also shared the details of the all-party meeting chaired under his leadership. He also spoke to Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda on the Manipur situation.

It has to be mentioned here that Narendra Modi did not chair any high-level meeting ever since the unrest started in Manipur. He did not tour the state to know what was happening there and did not make comments on this.

On one side, the Police were kept aside and the Military came into the picture to take care of law and order in the state. The state was under curfew for a few days. Despite the curfew, violent situations took place in the state. All these developments hinted that there might be a pan behind this. When so much is happening, the union government did not inform people what it is doing to counter this.

The opposition parties demanded that an all-party meeting should be chaired on Manipur violence. However, Narendra Modi did not look into that and he did not make any comment on the violent incidents in Manipur.

When a curfew was underway, unidentified people burnt the house of a Union Minister in Imphal. What does this mean? It is the failure of state and union governments that the unrest was continuing. Narendra Modi did not make any announcement on this. While there is no clarity on what he did till now, he held a review meeting on the Manipur violence after coming from his tours which is shocking.
