News of Sidhu getting hospitalized with life threatening decease spread like fire and top personalities took to Twitter to wish the cricketer a speedy recovery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today tweeted a get well soon message for ailing Sidhu
"Dear @sherryontopp ji, get well soon. You are a fighter & will overcome the illness in your trademark style. Our prayers are with you" Modi said in a message to Sidhu.
Sidhu responded by tweeting, "@narendramodi Sir, your concern means the world to me. You are a Great example & inspiration to serve my Country selflessly. Jai Hind!"
Meanwhile Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah raised questions on the silence of Narendra Modi after the heinous lynching 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq. The Prime Minister's tweet on Sidhu's illness was used by Omar to take a swipe at Modi.
