Political birthday bash makes TRS jittery in Minister's constituency

Update: 2022-06-10 07:41 GMT
Political dark clouds are gathering very close to Hyderabad in Maheshwaram assembly constituency. They could kick up a perfect storm in the ruling TRS. Former Hyderabad mayor and former TRS MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy is throwing up a big birthday bash on Saturday.  If sources are to be believed, Teegala would decide his future course of political action at this birthday gathering.

Teegala has been sulking ever since his political rival Sabitha Indra Reddy, who won on a Congress ticket, joined the TRS after the 2018 elections. Sabitha defeated Teegala, who fought on the TRS ticket. KCR soon made Sabitha a key minister in his cabinet. Since then,  Sabitha Indra Reddy has a virtual monopoly over the party in Maheshwaram.

She has also ensured that Teegala's supporters are not given any key party posts.  She has completely marginalized Teegala. A sulking Teegala has sent feelers that he would leave the party if he is not given the party ticket in the 2023 elections. Lending credence to his feelers, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy met him recently. Though this was touted as a courtesy call over the death of Eatala's son, political watchers claim that both Teegala and Revanth discussed politics.
Sources say that the followers and supporters of Teegala would attend the birthday bash in big numbers.

They are likely to discuss the present political scenario and Teegala is likely to take a decision about his future course of political action. He could demand a party ticket from Maheshwaram from the TRS or could join some  other party and contest on its ticket from Maheshwaram.
