Political Drama: How Bihar CM Escaped Uddhav-Like Treatment!

Update: 2022-08-10 05:59 GMT
Just like Maharashtra, Bihar is also facing a political crisis. But the only change is that the Maharashtra issue ended up in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party, while the Bihar political scenario made the saffron party BJP at the receiving end as the coalition government came to an end with CM stepping down.

For the past few days, we have been hearing the news that things are not going well between JDU and BJP in Bihar and anything can happen. Many predicted that the BJP would pull off a Maharashtra-like situation. But Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar acted swiftly and luckily escaped the political crisis.

It has been widely reported that BJP is reportedly in touch with JDU rebel legislators and the party might take a few MLAs to their side to reach the magic figure so that they can claim the government by dethroning Nitish Kumar.

Nitish Kumar sensed the danger and approached the opposing parties. The link-minded parties which are ready to do anything to give BJP a big blow came under one roof to extend support to Nitish Kumar. The main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal, came forward to give support to Nitish Kumar. In return, Tejashwi Yadav was offered the Deputy Chief Minister post.

On the other hand, as many as seven parties came together to form an alliance and the alliance was named Mahagathbandhan. While Nitish Kumar took the Chief Minister post, 32-year-old Tejashwi Yadav was given the Deputy post. The Congress party got the Speaker post in the state Assembly.

Though the BJP leadership had a doubt that Nitish Kumar is looking at other options and he might ditch the alliance, the party leadership did not take the issue seriously as the saffron party could not guess that JDU would approach all the opposition parties and bring them under one roof.

The ignorance of the Bharatiya Janata Party worked well for Nitish Kumar and he pulled off something no one expected including the BJP. If the BJP had enough time, it might have planned something big like it did in Maharashtra. Having seen what went with Maharashtra, Nitish Kumar met the opposition parties and came out of BJP's alliance.
