President Wants to Reduce Gun Violence, SC has other plans!

Update: 2022-06-24 06:48 GMT
Undoubtedly, the growing gun violence is a burning issue in the United States and the demand to bring it down is getting momentum. The Joe Biden administration is putting genuine efforts into seeing the culture being brought down. The gun firing incidents reported in the United States brought the spotlight on the gun violence which had reached the burning point.

Amid efforts from the United States Administration, the Supreme Court in the nation spoiled the dreams of President Joe Biden and said that the people can carry the handguns even when in public and there will be no limits on carrying the handguns.

The Supreme Court said, the existing law which stops people in New York from carrying arms is nothing but a violation of rights granted by the Constitution and hence the law should be scrapped. The Supreme Court in its order said people can carry the arms without any limit. The orders poured water on the dreams and efforts of Joe Biden to bring down the violence.

"New York's proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defence needs from exercising their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms in public for self-defence," the Supreme Court said changing the status quo of the law that has been existing from the past 100 years.

It has to be mentioned here that the gun violence which is ringing dangerous bells in the United States reached the boiling point and in the past few weeks gun violence incidents have increased and people are scared of stepping out.

Looking at the problematic situation, the Joe Biden administration started working on bringing a bill to restrict gun violence. The U.S. Senate passed a historic gun violence bill that aims at reducing the firearms that are used by the locals in America.

While the administration is busy making efforts, Supreme Court shocked it with its ruling. This shocked President Joe Biden and said he is deeply hurt by the Supreme Court's ruling.

"I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court's ruling. This ruling contradicts both common sense and the constitution, and should deeply trouble us all," the President said.
