Problem of plenty for BRS in Telangana?

Update: 2023-07-10 11:53 GMT
Though everything seems to be going in its favour, the ruling BRS is suffering nagging doubts about possible defections from the party at the time of elections. These defectors, the party's thinking heads feel, will wean away a significant chunk of voters in the upcoming elections. Hence, the party's leadership is working overtime to keep these disgruntled politicians under check.

For instance, MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, who is considered to be a formidable leader in BRS, is said to be demanding tickets for his wife and Rangareddy ZP chief Sunitha Mahender Reddy and some other close associates. Similarly, Maheshwaram former MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy too is demanding a party ticket from Maheshwaram. He has already indicated that he would leave the party if he is not given the ticket.

Another key party leader and MLC Kuchukuntla Prabhakar Reddy has been keeping away from active politics for the past several months. He has set a condition that his grandson Rajesh should be given an MLA ticket from Nagarkurnool.  There is a strong buzz in the political circles that he would eventually join the Congress Party.

Meanwhile, the BRS is also actively bringing key leaders from other parties into the party. This is being done to weaken the rival parties. These leaders need to be honorably rehabilitated upon their joining the BRS.  At least three such turncoats have been given nominated posts. This is said to be causing a lot of heartburn among the loyal party workers, who feel left in the lurch.
