The state health department appears to be in financial crisis. More than 170 private hospitals have threatened to stall their services for beneficiaries of Arogya sri. The impending dues worth Rs 200 crore and it was pending for over five-and-half months.
Telangana Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes' Association (THANA) have already served a notice on the State Government threatening to stop treating cases under Arogyasri, if it fails to clear the dues.
Though the hospitals have not decided the date for stalling of Aarogyasri services, they discussed the issue at recent meet. Since June 2, 2014 the government has spent amount of 774 crore on 2,81,548 patients. These unpaid dues have accumulated only in the last five-and half months
