Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh has been a strong force of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana. He was the lone MLA of the party even when BJP was not strong here. Raja Singh is a die-hard Hindutvavadi and never shied in breathing fire on those who comment against his religion.
When AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi reiterates his 15-minute' dare, Raja Singh hit back at him and said he will decide if the Owaisi brothers are left to him. This is his commitment to his ideology. However, things turned upside down and he was suspended from the BJP.
As the BJP did not lift his suspension, reports emerged that he is allegedly looking at the Telangana Telugu Desam Party. Before joining BJP, Raja Singh was with the TDP and served as the Corporator. Citing this, reports started doing rounds that Raja Singh would shock the BJP and join the Telugu Desam Parrty.
Amid this, Raja Singh reacted to the reports and said that there is no truth behind this and he is not leaving the BJP for TDP. Rubbishing the reports, the Goshamahal MLA said that he did not hold meetings with any TDP leaders and he will contest the next elections if the BJP leadership gives him a party ticket.
Earlier also such reports emerged and Raja Singh gave a similar response. He said that he will either walk with BJP or remain silent if he is not given a party ticket. Yet again, the MLA said that he is not leaving the party and will accept the party's decision.
Raja Singh increased the political heat in Telangana by allegedly making derogatory comments against the Prophet. This created a big uproar and he was arrested and sent to jail. After spending a few months in jail he was given conditional bail.
Raja Singh's grip on the region is such that thousands of people gather whenever he takes out Shobha Yatra for Srirama Navami and Hanuman Jayanthi. Police personnel will be beefed up to see that no unwanted scenes are reported. He won as MLA from the Goshamahal seat two times and wants to score a hat trick. Raja Singh is hopeful that the party would lift the suspension.
