The winter session of Parliament had started on a hot note with the opposition members targeting the ruling party over the much-talked-about agriculture bills which were repealed by the Centre recently. The resolution to repeal the three bills was tabled in Lok Sabha and Rajya today. A ruckus took place when the Repeal Bill was placed in the house.

The members of the opposition parties had started to raise slogans demanding a discussion on the agriculture bills. The Speaker reportedly warned the members to stay calm in the house but in vain.

During the sessions, as many as 12 Rajya Sabha members were suspended from the house for the entire winter session. However, the decision was taken on the grounds of the unruly behaviour of the members during the monsoon session.

In the notice served by the house, Rajya Sabha said that taking cognizance of the behavior of the members during the Monsoon sessions, the decision to suspend the members was taken. The notice says the unruly behavior dates back to the 11th of August this year.

"This House takes cognisance and strongly condemns the utter disregard to the authority of the Chair, complete abuse of rules of the House persistently thereby wilfully obstructing the business of House through their unprecedented acts of misconduct, contemptuous, unruly and violent behaviour and intentional attacks on security personnel on the last day of 254th Session of Rajya Sabha i.e. August 11," the House said in a statement.

Elamaram Kareem(CPM), Phulo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, R Bora, Rajamani Patel, Syed Nasir Hussain, Akhilesh Prasad Singh( Congress Party)Binoy Viswam(CPI), Dola Sen & Shanta Chhetri(TMC), Priyanka Chaturvedi & Anil Desai(Shiv Sena) were suspended by the Rajya Sabha Chairman.

Amid ruckus and tension in the house, Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day by the chairman. Within minutes of tabling the bills, they were passed by both the Upper House and lower house.

The controversial Agriculture bills that made the farmers protest at the borders were repealed by the Centre. As per the procedure, the bill to repeal the farm bills was tabled and passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
