Today marks the occasion of the birth anniversary of Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga. Following this, his son Vangaveeti Radha offered tributes to him. He visited the Ranga statue near the Raghavaiah Park in Vijayawada along with the Janasena leaders. Radha made some strong comments that his father is not restricted to a caste, religion, community, or region. People have a special place for Ranga and kept him in their hearts. Many people became leaders by using his name and forgot him later. If they forgot him, people would not forget him, he said.
We might have missed Ranga physically, but he is an inspiration for a few generations. People see him as a god even now as an example of the good work he had done. He urged Ranga fans to stay united.
Radha asked why leaders who often take Ranga's name did not name his district after him. Radha said that his father produced a movie named Chaitanya Ratham in 1987 and people are eagerly waiting for the film.
He said that if the print of the film is found then it would be revamped. On the occasion of Ranga's Jayanthi, it was released in America. The same would be made available in Telugu states soon. Without thinking about profits, the movie will be made available on social media, he said.
Vangaveeti Radha Krishna asking why the district was not named after Ranga despite using his name became a hot topic in the state now. There is a strong criticism that YCP leaders are using the name of Ranga only when they need to. Before coming to power, even Jagan used to offer tributes to Ranga. As part of his yatra, he used to offer tributes to Ranga after paying tributes to his father. But Jagan did not visit Ranga's statue after coming to power.
On the other hand, there were many demands to name either Krishna district or Vijayawada after Ranga when new districts were announced. However, the demands were ignored. Amid this, Radha Krishna's comments gained prominence. We have to wait and see how the YCP leaders respond to this.
