YSRCP MLA Roja has taken up legal battle challenging her one year suspension from the Assembly. She has approached the high court initially and the court refused to hear the case stating it did not come under its purview as the suspension was done Speaker
Following dismissal of the petition by High Court she moved to Supreme Court which has ordered High Court to take up the case on immediate basis. Today high court heard the arguments from Roja's counsel and reserved its decision in Roja's suspension case for tomorrow i.e on Thursday.
Petitioner's counsel Indira Jaising argued that the suspension was unconstitutional and violative of the MLA's rights as the decision was taken unilaterally. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court reserved its decision for Thursday. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad suspended the MLA from the Assembly for a year on December 18 for allegedly making "unparliamentary" remarks against chief minister. So tomorrow is going to be very crucial for Roja and she was eagerly waiting for the decision of SC.
