#RussiaUkrainewar:Decades Long fight turns war!

Update: 2022-02-24 09:55 GMT
The Russian military is bulldozing into the Ukraine territory going by the orders it received from President Putin. Without wasting any time, the forces had swung into action and carried out attacks and bombing in as many as 11 cities in Ukraine leaving people around the area tense.

It is also said that an airport came into the control of the Russian army which gave birth to an intense situation at the borders. Seeing this, the Ukrainian government had imposed martial law in the territory and advised people to be safe and not step out.

Several countries including the United States are worried about the impact the face-off between Russia and Ukraine could have on the world. US President Joe Biden had already warned Russia that the world would hold the nation responsible for its unprovocative nature.

While the tension is getting only bigger with time passing, those who are aware of the history know that things are not going well between Russia and Ukraine since the early 1990s after the latter got separated from the former.

It all started in 1991 with the Soviet Union's collapse. As a result of the internal issues within the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), Ukraine got separated from Russia. Soviet republic of Ukraine leader Leonid Kravchuk announced freedom from Russia.

During the early days of its separation, Ukraine focused on making and following policies that made it stay close to the EU and other powerful nations. This is the same reason why the leaders who contested the Presidential post use that stand as an election slogan.

Unhappy with his political policy, the people had not voted for Leonid Kravchuk in the 1994 elections and the next elections too. However, it was alleged that Leonid Kuchma had indulged in irregularities in voting.

But what made things between the two nations go terribly wrong is Russia stepping on Ukraine territory. Back on 27 February in 2014, a few members of the Russian Army reached Ukraine and carried out attacks across Crimea, and captured a few sites. Since then, the fight between the two nations has continued. Now it escalated at once with Russia announcing military operation.
