We have been hearing a lot about the sand mafia in Andhra Pradesh for the past few years. The opposition has been positing the government as accused in the matter and has been alleging that the state government is not taking any action against this and encouraging the sand mafia to progress.
One such incident on the sand mafia was reported recently. The shocking fact is that the sand mafia is not fearing anyone and an official who tried to question this had to suffer an alleged attack. The pictures and videos show that the people involved in the illegal sand business try to scare an inspector.
The shocking incident was reported from Gudivada. As per the information, a revenue team led by Inspector Arvind showed up at the spot to conduct raids. Knowing that the Revenue Inspector is conducting a search, people involved in the sand business have started arguments with him.
They have pushed the RI aside and reportedly threatened him. The revenue department had condemned this and sought action against the accused. When RI stood against the JCB, he was pushed aside.
After reaching the Moturu village in Gudivada, the Revenue Inspector asked what was going on there. As a few locals have alleged that the illegal sand business is being carried out at night, they have complained to him. This gave birth to an intense war of words between the Revenue officials and the accused on the spot.
If we look at the issue from a critical point of view, one doubt arises. A doubt of whether a few bigwigs were behind the sand mafia arises here. Or else no one dares to openly attack the Revenue officials even when the media was covering the issue. They did not take a back step even looking at the cameras.
Without any help and assurance from the big people and leaders, the accused won't take the risk of attacking the officials. The way they had pushed the Revenue Inspector and tried to throw him away with JCB says that they are ready to do anything to deal with those who question them.
