Supreme Court on Thursday fumed at BCCI for not abiding by the recommendations of Justice RM Lodha Committee. It maintained that Lodha Committee isn't an ordinary panel and it is headed by a former CJI.
The Apex Court asked BCCI to go to the panel for settling any outstanding issues. It also maintained BCCI should have focussed on transparency when it comes to funding state associations and Rs 400 crore can't be transferred overnight.
Setting a deadline of 24 Hours, Supreme Court asked BCCI whether or not the Lodha Committee recommendations will be implemented by it. He further added, Either BCCI should elect new administrators or Lodha Committee give some more time for BCCI to implement its orders. BCCI should give assurance on abiding by the recommendations else appropriate action will be taken on Friday.
BCCI & Lodha Committee differed in these aspects - 'One State-One Vote', 'Age Limit of 70', 'Continuing 5-Member Selectors', 'Retain the powers of the President and Secretary' and 'Cooling-off Period of 3 Years'.
