The State government has rejected the request of senior police official VK Singh for premature retirement. VK Singh, a 1987 batch IPS officer, has sought premature retirement on the grounds that he has not been promoted in his service. He also made adverse comments about the police training institutions in AP.
However, it is now learnt that the AP Government has rejected his application. This means that neither would he be promoted nor would he be prematurely retired. He is due to retire in November 2020. At this rate, the State Government appears disinterested in giving him a post. So, he might retire without a posting and might even risk losing his pension benefits.
VK Singh's comments on the police training institutions have earned the wrath of the State Government. It has since rejected his appeal for premature superannuation. VK Singh is no stranger to controversy. He had said that the Telangana state was among the most corrupt state. He also called a media reporter as commercial sex worker for writing a negative story about him.
