Out of nowhere the Telangana wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party became strong. No one would have predicted that the BJP can pull off such a thing. The saffron party has representation in the state Assembly and parliament from the state as well.
Not just that, the BJP is also looking strong and unhappy leaders from other parties as looking at it hoping that it will be the next big thing. Rebel Congress leader Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy left the party and joined the BJP. His resignation as MLA created a space for the Munugode by-polls.
Now the political experts are saying that the unhappy leaders from Telangana Congress are looking at the BJP and might wearing the saffron shawl. The recently announced TPCC committees gave a big shock to many senior leaders and former legislators.
Aiming the next elections, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced a few TPCC Committees the other day. But a few seniors were not given a space in these bodies. The likes of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Sureskha, and others were missing from the committees.
While Venkat Reddy is said to have missed the spot as he is not seen in any party activities of late, there is no clarity on why Konda Surekha was not selected in any committee. Despite the fact that she is a strong leader from the Warangal region she was not selected for any committee.
After the committees were announced Konda Surekha openly expressed her dissatisfaction and resigned from the TPCC Executive Committee. She said that it is a humiliation for her as she was not named in the Telangana Political Affairs Committee and her juniors are given a place in the committee.
Konda Surekha expressed her dissatisfaction openly, other senior leaders did not speak up on this. Political observers are saying that the seniors in T-Congress are looking at another option which is probably the BJP.
They might have felt that it would be good if they hold their silence till they get a nod from the BJP leadership on their joining. If they make any unwanted comments before the assurance from BJP then they would have to face the same treatment as Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
