Research and Investments Group Hurun is known for ranking people based on their wealth. After a detailed survey and study, the United Kingdom-based firm lists rich people across the globe, and the firm also gives reasons on how rich people got a place on the list and what made them see a big rise in their wealth.
Hurun recently announced the Rich People list in 2022. However, the report is different compared to previous ones as people coming from small towns found a place on the list. More than 170 rich people from small towns found a place on the list of 1103 people who have worth over a thousand crores.
Besides the capital cities of a few states, there are billionaires in small towns like Bhimabvaram and others. This shows that the places they are living in are not defining their wealth and place on the rich people in the country in 2022.
The list said that the financial capital of India Mumbai has the highest number of billionaires with 283 followed by the National capital Delhi(185), Bengaluru(89), Hyderabad(64), and Chennai(51). Mumbai placed at the top preposition is not a shock as the city has been a place of rich people for a long time.
Looking at the small towns with billionaires, we have Bhimavaram, Vizag, and Tirupati from AP and Surat from Gujarat. Surat, Thrissur, and Coimbatore are in the top three positions. Thrissur has just four billionaires and their combined worth is thousands of crores.
God's own country Kerala is at the top position in the average worth of billionaires. Kerala is known for rich natural resources and people there go to the gulf for various reasons and expand their business umpires. So the state has many billionaires.
