Soon after taking over, BJP's new state president Somu Virraju is asserting himself. He has publically chided all those in the habit of speaking whatever they want on various issues regardless of the party stand. Not just that, he has clearly said that only the spokespersons will speak on party affairs like the shifting of the state capital.
This is being seen as a clear snub to party's Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary and all those who are speaking in support of Amaravati. The statement came soon after Sujana Chowdary went public saying that the Central Government has the authority to stop the shifting of the state capital. Countering him, Somu said that Centre has no role whatsoever in shifting of the capital and that it was entirely left to the discretion of the State government. This is being seen as a major departure from the regime of Kanna Lakshminarayana, who openly sided with the TDP on several issues.
Somu Virraju has also slammed the culture of writing letters to the Centre and then making them public. He said that there are internal party for a to discuss everything. He said that no one should speak anything that goes against the Central Government on the issue of Amaravathi .
