The excessive gun culture that often creates problematic situations for the United States is now making its way to other countries as well. As a result, England reported a mass gun firing incident.
Tension gripped Southwest England's Plymouth after six people including the attacker lost their lives in the gun firing incident.
According to the police statement, the incident resulted in two females and three males breathing their last. The males reportedly include the suspect.
As prescribed by a person who lives nearby the location, a man armed with semi-automatic weapon barged into a house and opened firing.
A mother and her daughter in the house were shot by the armed man. Later, he entered a nearby park and shot two people there.
The Devon and Cornwall Police were informed about the firing and the cops reached the spot with full force.
When they tried to arrest the suspect, he reportedly shot himself and succumbed to the injuries.
The ambulance support had also reached the spot to help the victims. However, a lady had breathed her life when she was being shifted to a hospital.
Reacting to the incident, ths cops said the situation is under control and urged the people not to panic.
Adding further, the Devon and Cornwall Police went on to say that there is no terrorist link behind the attack and said the further investigation is underway to check if there are others also involved.
Informed that the road that leads to the incident spot was closed, the Police adviced the commuters to take other routes. They also urged the citizens to not share pictures from the spot on social media.
British Home Secretary Priti Patel expressed her shock over the incident. Saying that she had a word with the chief constable, Priti Patel had appealed to everyone to follow the advice given by the police.
"The incident in Plymouth is shocking and my thoughts are with those affected.I have spoken to the Chief Constable and offered my full support. I urge everyone to remain calm, follow police advice and allow our emergency services to get on with their jobs," Priti Patel tweeted.
