Bangaldesh ODI Captain Mashrafe Mortaza suffered minor injuries in a road accident on Thursday. A bus hit a cycle rickshaw on which the cricketer has been travelling to reach Shere Bangla National Stadium. Anticipating the danger much in advance, He jumped from the rickshaw and got away with minor injuries.
Mashrafe Mortaza said: "As my car was used to take my child to the doctor for vaccination, I preferred a rickshaw to the ground as it would take just 10 minutes to reach stadium from my house. I was lucky to escape with little skin damage".
Police took the bus driver into custody. The richshaw puller was unhurt. Even though the traffic police who is on duty at the time of accident offered to take him to the nearby hospital, Mortaza decided to reach the Stadium instead and he receive first-aid at the Cricket Board's medical room. He skipped the training session for the day.
Mortaza suffered lacerations on both his hands and his right knee has swollen. Bangla Coach is unsure if he will be fit for ODI series against India starting from June 18th.
