Sunitha Reddy, daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy who is fighting for justice in the case, knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court challenging the interim protection granted by the Telangana High Court for Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. Her petition came for the petition today and the Apex Court made some serious comments.

Earlier, the Telangana High Court granted protection for Avinash Reddy and asked the CBI to not arrest him till the 25th of this month. Having said that, the court also said that audio and video should be recorded during the questioning and reportedly said that questions should be prepared in writing.

The Supreme Court which heard the petition reportedly found fault with the orders issued by the Telangana High Court and asked how the Court can pass such orders. Reports say that the Supreme Court bench also asked how such orders can be issued.

The two-judge bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud which also comprised Justice PS Narasimha heard the petition and reportedly expressed shock over orders given by the High Court of Telangana.

After making such comments, the Supreme Court stayed the orders. However, the lawyers representing Avinash Reddy raised doubt about possible arrest by CBI if the orders are stayed. With this, the Apex Court said that the Kadapa MP cannot be arrested till the 24th of this month.

The orders issued by Telangana High Court said that he cannot be arrested till the 25th of this month. But the Supreme Court reduced the protection by one day. It will hear the petition on 24th April. All eyes are now on the next hearing of the case.
