Founder of Arya Sabha Swami Agnivesh faulted Telangana Government promoting blind faith with Ayutha Chandi Yagam. He is particularly against the huge expenditure (Rs 7 crore) involved in the prestigious Yagam and terms it as complete waste.
Swami Agnivesh even wrote an open letter to President Pranab Mukherjee asking him to boycott Ayutha Chandi Yagam as its against rationality and scientific evidence. He also pointed out Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning in his first address at Parliament that poverty could be eradicated by fighting against blind faith.
President Pranab Mukherjee ignored Swami Agnivesh's appeal and boarded the flight to reach Erravelli farm house where the Ayutha Chandi Yagam is being performed. However, The VVIP had to cancel his tour and return to Hyderabad due to the fire accident on Sunday afternoon.
