The war of words between the YCP and TDP had turned intense due to the illicit liquor issue. The verbal war saw both parties targeting each other on various issues in the state. Holding the YCP leaders responsible for the lives lost in the infamous Jangareddygudem deaths issues, Telugu Desam Party held a protest outside the Assembly.
Former Minister Nara Lokesh also took part in the protest and accused the ruling party leaders of targeting him rather than focusing on public issues. He even asked what the government is doing when people are losing lives consuming cheap liquor.
Nara Lokesh's comments did not go well with the YCP leaders.YSR Congress party MLA Jogi Ramesh took a strong objection to Lokeshâs comments and asked what he and his father did when Covid had hit the state.
Addressing the house, the MLA said, Lokesh you make big claims in words and that doesn't reflect in actions. As opposition leader, your father escaped to Hyderabad along with you. How come you can comment on us? How can you comment on our government that has 151 seats, he asked.
The MLA was stopped by Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, who took a dig at Lokesh. Asking the MLA to leave the topic, Sitaram said even the public doesn't take Lokesh seriously, what's the point of talking about him.
