The YSRCP led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in 2019 with a supermajority in the general elections. It's been close to four years since the party came to power. During the same period, the ruling party faced many hammer blows from the courts. However, in a few instances, the party got some favorable orders from the court.
Another instance joined the row as the YCP got a big relief. The Supreme Court had set aside the stay imposed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on the SIT on the alleged irregularities that took place in the previous government.
As the High Court imposed the stay on the SIT, the Andhra Pradesh government knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court. The bench lifted the stay and reportedly said that the case should be probed based on merit and reportedly directed the High Court to take a call after an inquiry.
The Andhra Pradesh government decided to set up an SIT to probe the alleged irregularities in the previous government. But a few Telugu Desam Party leaders raised objections over this and moved the High Court. The court issued a stay order on this and the matter was taken to the Supreme Court.
The YSRCP banked heavily on the alleged irregularities in TDPâs regime before the 2019 polls. After coming to power, the party focused on the Amaravati area and the alleged insider trading. However, the High Court said that there is no such thing happened. But the ruling party is not happy with this and wants to prove the irregularities.
With the government getting a positive verdict we have to wait and see at what extent it would be successful in proving the allegations it made and has been making against the grand old Telugu Desam Party.
Moreover, the general elections will be conducted next year and the Special Investigation Team(SIT) probe would add fuel to the political intensity in the state. The major parties took the elections prestigiously and are giving their best efforts to win the polls. Let us wait and see what happens next.
