It is known that India will be hosting the prestigious G-20 nations meeting to discuss bigger issues like financial stability and climate change mitigation. The event will happen next year and following this, the Union government has written to the chiefs of all parties to attend the all-party meeting slate to commence on the fifth of next month.
The list of party chiefs includes Nara Chandrababu Naidu too. This raised many eyeballs as this is the second time Naidu is going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier he met Modi during the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Now political experts say that Telugu Desam Party and Nara Chandrababu Naidu again got hopes for a possible alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the next general elections.
Earlier Telugu Desam Party and Janasena hinted at joining hands. But that did not happen as the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party has been making it clear that only BJP- Janasena is in alliance and there is no possibility of another party coming in.
Amid this, he got a surprise call from the Union government to come for the all-party meeting. Winning the next general elections is the need of the hour for the Telugu Desam Party. If it cannot win the polls then it cannot sustain itself further.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is also not in a good position in the state. It is not even in the picture politically. Showing its mark in the next polls is the main criteria for the opposition parties. There are high chances for Chandrababu Naidu to make the BJP leadership understand this and start the process of the alliance.
BJP has an alliance with Janasena already and if Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party can join hands then Janasena will also come along. If everything goes well and the three parties can come together, then they can repeat the 2014 election result and come to power.
The next general elections are over one and a half years away from now and anything can happen in this time. Recently it was reported that Janasena and BJP might end ties. But the saffron party has sent a strong message that the alliance with Janasena is intact. The same might happen with the TDP as well.
