Former Minister and senior politician from Mahabaoob Nagar district Elkote Ellareddy passed away on Tuesday passes away. He was 82 and is survived by 4 sons, two of whom are active politicians.
Elkote who hailed from poor agriculture family entered into politics in 1968. He begins his political career with TDP party.He became an MLA from Makthal in Mahabubnaar in 1994. He backed Chandrababu Naidu during split of TDP and became marketing minister in 1997. Later he won elections to the assembly in 1999 and also in 2009.
Post bifurcation he shifted loyalities to TRS ans unsuccessfully contested from Makthal constituency against Congress candidate.Telangana Chief Minister KCR expressed deep condolences at the death of Ella Reddy.
