Ever since the novel coronavirus has entered India so many rumors and fake news have been circulated via social media platforms creating much panic in public. The Telangana police have arrested three such persons who were spreading fake news about COVID-19 on social media.
The police said that three people including the admin of a WhatsApp group were taken into custody for spreading false news on the virus through social media platforms by using a fake picture.
Going by the information given by the cops of them have reportedly edited a photograph of a patient on the hospital bed and spread the news that a person hailing from the district has lost his life to the COVID-19.
The Rachakonda police have arrested a person on the outskirts of Hyderabad for allegedly spreading fake news of the virus on social media platforms.
Though the cops did not mention his details, it is believed that the arrested person has reportedly shared fake news of the virus on WhatsApp and alleged that three people from his area were tested positive for the virus which left people in a state of panic.
