Telangana Proves It Is A Big Player In IT Sector!

A few months back, Telangana IT Minister KTR's tweet on the IT sector created a big controversy. His tweet inviting a company to come to Hyderabad from Bengaluru when the representatives complained about lack of facilities made the then Karnataka-IT Minister angry and a tweet war happened between the two Ministers. The debate on which city is better between Hyderabad and Bengaluru started.

Though both cities have an IT push, Bengaluru is in a better position than Hyderabad as the Karnataka capital city is dubbed as the IT hub of the country. Bengaluru saw big steps in IT even before Hyderabad did. Bengaluru is a big player in the IT game.

But Telangana stunned many with a big rise in IT jobs. In the 2023 Financial year, the state accounts for over 40 percent of jobs that were created in the country. This shows how big a player the state is as far as the IT sector is concerned.

Since the 2000s, the IT sector has been increasing in the state and the capital city Hyderabad has been inviting big companies and firms regularly. Global firms like Google, Microsoft, and others have offices here with hundreds of IT employees working.

The data says that In the financial year, the IT sector saw a growth of around 31.44 percent, and IT exports are also high. Talking about the IT jobs that were generated in the financial year, the state saw around 1.27 lakh jobs. In India around 2.9 lakh jobs were created.
