Telangana, which has been bringing down the fresh infections and fatalities related to the ongoing Coronavirus over the past few months has achieved one more milestone in tackling the pandemic.
According to the information provided by the state Health Ministry, Telangana registered zero fatalities related to Coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Telangana reported zero fatalities after nine months.
The last time Telangana reported zero Coronavirus fatalities was back in 2020 on the 8th of May. So far, 1,613 patients have succumbed to the novel Coronavirus in the state.
Looking at the fresh Coronavirus, Telangana registered 146 new Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours. The fresh infections take the total toll of the Coronavirus infections in the state to 2,96,134.
Taking about the decline in fresh infections and fatalities, Telangana Director of Public Health Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao has credited the increase in the testing count and taking the testing level to the villages as well.
He said that imposing lockdown has also helped in containing the virus and curbing the infections. We have achieved this with the active participation of the public. They should continue following this till we root out the virus, he said.
On the other hand, Telangana has the highest recovery rate of 98.83 percent, which is higher compared to the national recovery rate of 97.2%. Telangana has a positivity rate and mortality rate of 0.7 percent and 0.54 percent respectively.
Looking at the samples tested in the state to detect the novel Coronavirus. So far, a total of 82.1 lakh samples have been tested in the state, while 29,755 tests were conducted on Thursday alone.
