The global internet users rose to 4.72 billion, China tops the list!

Several countries across the globe have imposed lockdowns in the last year to fight the Covid-19 crisis, which made the major share of the global population confined to their homes.

People not stepping out of their houses has resulted in the rise in internet users in the world. According to a new study, more than 330 million internet users have joined the internet across the globe.

According to a recent study, globally, there are 4.72 billion internet users in the globe. This translates to six out of every ten people. Over the past year, internet users have increased rapidly.

The Dragon country China tops the list of internet users in the world with 21 percent. In the past 12 months, China saw nearly 85 million new users joining the social media platforms.

India is in the second place in the list with over 13 percent of internet users, while the superpower nation, the United States has nearly 6.3 percent of the global internet users.

The survey has found out that WhatsApp remains the topmost favorite Social Media app used by people across the globe. A major share of people between the age group of 16 and 64 use WhatsApp.
