The laddu placed at the two places attracts high prices in the auction as devotees see laddu as good luck.

The Balapur Ganesh laddu attracted a high price of Rs 18.90 lakh, the highest ever price in the history of the Ganesh celebrations. The 21-kg laddu was brought jointly by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council member Ramesh Yadav and one Marri Shashan Reddy, who is a businessman by profession. After the auction, Ramesh Yadav said he will gift the laddu to AP CM Jagan.

The auction for the laddu that was plated with gold was held amid much fanfare. Devotees present at the auction chanted Ganpati Bappa Morya. Politicians like Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, former MLA T. Krishna Reddy, and others graced the auction process.

The process of auctioning the laddu was started back in 1994 and the laddu was sold for Rs 450. Every year, the price went and the popularity of the laddu went on to increase and after 2015, the price started to cross the mark of over 15 lakh. The last highest price was recorded in 2018 for a price of Rs 16.60 lakh. After winning the auction, those who get the laddu distribute it to their friends and family members as a token of good luck.

Another famous Ganesh, the Khairtabad Ganesh was offered laddu that weighs 1100 kg. J Tanay Rana and his family, who has been offering the laddu to the Khairtabad Ganesh, offered the laddu this year as well. However, they couldn't offer laddu last year due to the Corona impact. The family had spent Rs 1 lakh to prepare the laddu. The laddu was offered to the Panchamukha Rudra Maha Ganapati at Khairatabad last week after performing the pooja process.

The Khairtabad Ganesh and Balapur Ganesh were immersed in the water body today. No unwanted situations were reported during the entire process which is a good thing.
