Throwing Bike and Cylinder into lake angers KTR, he seeks action against them
The hike in fuel prices and cylinders prices has increased the hardships of the middle-class people. Petrol has surpassed the century mark, while the cylinder price has reached an all-time high.
The opposition parties across the country are protesting against the hike in prices. However, a few protesters have taken their protests to a next level by throwing a bike and LPG cylinder into the water body.
The incidents of throwing an LPG cylinder and the bike into the water body took place in Telangana capital Hyderabad. A bike and cylinder were thrown into the Hussain Sagar lake earlier in June.
Earlier on June 11, activists of Youth Congress protested against the price hike and staged a protest. After the protest, the workers threw a bike into the Hussain Sagar lake. The workers threw the bike into the water body from Tank Bund.
On the other hand, the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) called for a protest last week against the hike of LPG prices and threw the cylinder into the Hussain Sagar lake.
These examples have angered TRS working President and IT Minister KTR. Taking to Twitter, Urban Development Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao shared the pictures and asked Home Minister Mahmood Ali and Telangana DGP Mahendar Reddy to take strict action against them.
In a tweet, KTR opined that protest is an important part of democracy, but irresponsible behavior such as throwing bikes and cylinders into lakes is not advisable and sought action against them.
"Protest is an important part of democracy to attract the attention of Govts & people. But irresponsible behaviour such as these, throwing bikes & cylinders into lakes is reprehensible. Request HM @mahmoodalitrs Garu and @TelanganaDGP Garu to issue instructions for stern action," KTR tweeted.
