An undertrail prisoner (28-Year-Old Deepak) was killed by four inmates on Tuesday night in the high-security Tihar jail.
Deepak and four other inmates were lodged at a high-security ward in Prison No. 8 of Tihar jail. The four assailants used weapons made out of window materials to attack Deepak inside the prison cell at around 10 pm.
Jail Authorities rushed Deepak to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital but he was declared brought dead by the doctors. A case of murder has been registered against all the four prisoners and investigation is going on.
Since 2008, Deepak has been in Tihar jail for alleged involvement in dacoity and other crimes. The assailants who attacked him have violated prison norms on many occasions and they even have the track record of using criminal force inside the jail premises. While one them is a life convict, two others were involved in murder cases. One of the attackers has killed another inmate inside Tihar in the past.
