Telugu Desam Party is the first party which is floated by a film star and the party formed the government. For the same reason, the grand old has a good number of supporters and sympathisers from the film industry. Recently, Raghavendra Rao sounded confident that TDP would come to power. After coming to power in 1983, the party welcomed many big actors and sent them to Parliament.
As TDP has been having a good rapport with the film fraternity, a veteran actor-producer is said to be in view of seeking a party ticket from the opposition party for the next polls. The process is said to be underway and we might hear further developments on this.
The particular member of the film industry we are talking about has always been a strong supporter of the Telugu Desam Party and he served as a Rajya Sabha member. But things changed between the party and the actor-producer after he alleged that the government is not paying the fees reimbursement on time and shifted loyalties to YSRCP.
However, his decision of shifting loyalties to YSRCP from the Telugu Desam Party and extensive campaigning for Jagan Mohan Reddy's party did not work for him and he did not get any nominated post. His educational institution also did not get any benefits from the Jagan sarkar despite supporting Jagan.
It is said that the actor-producer realized his mistake of leaving the Telugu Desam Party and joining the YSRCP camp and that's why he is busy changing the status quo of his equation with the opposition party. He might meet party chief Chandrababu Naidu and request a ticket.
As the general elections are two years away from now anything can happen and the veteran actor-producer might be able to convince Chandrababu Naidu in getting a party ticket. Going by the gossip, the ace film industry member is gearing up to get busy in electoral politics and he might try his luck as an MLA.
Moreover, the TDP is looking for winning horses for the next polls and the actor-producer might fit into the requirement of the grand old party. If everything goes well, he might get a party ticket for the next polls.
