Tamil star Vijay has decided to go on a hunger strike for the release of his film 'Thalaiva' (Anna in Telugu) which was yet to hit the screens in Tamilnadu, whereas it is running successfully in other States and Overseas from August 9th. Following a threatening letter from unknown outfit stating that theatres will be blasted with bombs if the film was screened, Exhibitors have been reluctant to screen the film as Tamilnadu government is alleged to be behind the harassment on 'Thalaiva'.
Despite several attempts requesting her to allow the screening of the film, Jayalalitha hasn't taken any measures and even denied appointment to Vijay. As a last attempt, Vijay has decided to go on a hunger strike for two days at any venue permitted by the government. Along with Vijay, Amala Paul, Sathyaraj, Director Vijay, Music Director GV Prakash, producer and the rest of the cast & crew would participate in the fast. If Vijay get the permission, this fast is going to a sensation and one of its kind in the history of Indian cinema.
Major worry for 'Thalaiva' team is the huge losses producer and distributors going to incur because of the delay in the release and pirated DVDs of the film in circulation across the state. Even 'Viswaroopam' faced a similar problem, but finally Kamal won the war against Jayalalitha in the end. Let's see who will have the last laugh in Jaya-Vijay episode.
