Before the much-hyped Munugode by-election, an alleged attempt to poach four MLAs came to light and the ruling party in Telangana said that the BJP is behind this and the issue even reached the High Court. The issue became a sensation as the party which is in power at the Centre is blamed.
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which is not ready to leave the issue had set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is led by city Commissioner CV Anand. The Team is digging deeper into the row and unearthing new details concerning the alleged MLA poaching issue.
Now reports say that the SIT is focusing more on Hyderabad resident Nandakumar and tracking his tour details. As the BJP leadership is said to be behind this the SIT is gathering details on his recent tours. The initial investigation reportedly found he frequently visited Delhi and the team wants to know the reason.
The SIT is believed to be focusing on this and trying hard to gather the required details. If any concrete evidence is gathered then a few leaders might face the heat. If the BJP's hand is unearthed then the issue will surely raise the political heat and might turn into a big weapon for Telangana Chief Minister KCR who wants to enter national politics.
It has been widely reported that a few BJP leaders planned the entire episode and tried to take four MLAs into their party and the four MLAs were offered Rs 100 crores each. Based on the complaint made by one of the four MLAs, the police arrested the accused and produced them before the court.
As Nandakumar's Delhi visits caught the attention of SIT officers they are focusing on it more to gather details. If any critical information is found then the issue will turn sensitive and even bring a lot of bad image to the BJP. Let us wait and see what happens here.
After TRS MLA Rohit Reddy moved the police against the four accused they were arrested on multiple sections of IPC and the probe is underway. The accused will be in remand till the 25th of this month.
