TRS leader and MP Ranjith Reddy who represents the Chevella constituency had visited the historic Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy temple in Dama Gundam on Tuesday.
After offering prayers to the god, the MP announced a pension of Rs 500 for each old cow in Puduru region. Owners of 20 old cows were given the pension amount.
The MP said, as an initiative of Swamy Satyananda, the Chairman of Amrutham Gamaya Charitable Trust, the owners of the cows will be given Rs 500 per month.
"A policy was made for every cow here. If a cow dies, the owner of the cow will be given a sum of Rs 35,000," the MP told the owners of the cattle.
The MP was accompanied by Pargi MLA Koppula Mahesh Reddy during his visit. Both legislators have appealed to everyone to take part in protecting Gomatha.
