TRS Now Focuses On Graduates MLC Elections

Update: 2020-06-18 03:10 GMT
The ruling TDP in Telangana has now turned its attention on winning the graduate MLC constituencies. There are three seats. Of these, the TRS could win only one seat, while the BJP and the Congress won one each.

Despite a landslide in the assembly elections in both 2014 and 2018, the TRS could not win the hearts of the graduate voters. While the BJP had N Ramachandra Rao, the Congress had T Jeevan Reddy. This time around, the TRS has begun in the right earnest to win all the three seats. It has started identifying graduates and is working hard to woo them. Last time, the BJP has managed to enroll 50000 graduates as voters. As a result, its candidate had competitive edge. This time, the TRS wants to follow the same strategy. It wants to ensure that most of its supporters are enrolled.

If TRS sources are to be believed, educationist Marri Rajasekhar Reddy would be fielded against Ramachandra Rao in Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar seat. Reddy is an educationist and runs several educational institutions. While Ramachandra Rao is no pushover, it remains to be seen how wins.
