No Ganesh Mandals And Huge Idols For This Ganesh Chaturthi

Given the prevailing situations, the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao, aka KCR took a crucial call on Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Talking about the same, Telangana Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy said no permission will be given for the Ganesh Mandap this time and asked the people to restrict the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations to their houses only.

He said that the government took this decision to avoid mass gatherings as the ongoing pandemic is spreading its wings and the cases are increasing rapidly and asked the public to cooperate with them.

The Minister went on to say that the celebrations at houses should be carried out by following safety measures like maintaining social distancing with others and wearing face masks.

This is the first time, the mass celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi was suspended in the four decades in the city. The culture of mass celebration and Ganesh Nimmajan was started in the year 1980.

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the main festivals celebrated in the city. People celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in their houses as well as in Apartments and gated communities.
