With elections just little more than two years away, the political activity has heated up in Andhra Pradesh. Finding the anti-incumbency growing , but the opposition TDP falling way too short of public expectations, new political formations are being planned. At least two political formations appear to be coming up.
The first is the sudden activism of Bro.Anil Kumar. He met former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar and then held a couple meetings with the BCs in both Rajahmundry and Vijayawada. In both the places, politics came up. These discussions took place amid speculations that YS Jagan's sister YS Sharmila is likely to enter into AP politics.
Meanwhile, the Kapu community leaders have suddenly become active. They have been holding a series of meetings in Vizag, Hyderabad and Tadepalli. The community leaders, including former DGP Sambasiva Rao, former ministers Vatti Vasant Kumar and Ganta Srinivasa Rao and former MLA Bonda Uma, feel that political power and proper representation are important for the community. They are thinking on the lines of forming a new political outfit.
The Kapus have formed the Forum for Better AP to voice their concerns. With the political fever picking heat, various interest groups have suddenly become active. Will the Kapu group be able to find a proper representation to the community, which forms 15 per cent in AP's population? Will Ys Sharmila be able to tap the discontent among the people against the Jagan Government? Let's wait and watch how things unfold.
