The world is fearing the new variant of Coronavirus which was named Omicron by the experts. The new form of respiratory disease is slowly spreading its wings and entering one after the other country slowly. The list of countries to have reported the Omicron infections is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day.

Making things worse for the United Kingdom, the virus is spreading at a rapid pace. The situation had reached a point that the administration had warned the public that the new variant might start a small wave in the country. The medical advisers had warned about a tidal wave in the coming days.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson had addressed the countrymen through a televised address on Sunday and highlighted the scope of a tidal wave due to the big threat posed by the Omicron variant of the deadly pandemic.

The Covid cases are doubling every week in the United Kingdom. In the last 24 hours, the country had reported the highest number of infections after 663 fresh infections were detected. As a result, the Omicron infections count rose to 1898.

Besides this, the country faced a flood of infections after the passengers coming from other countries carried the virus to the United Kingdom. To counter this, the government is focusing on air passengers.

According to the predictions of experts, if the cases get increased at the same rate, the United Kingdom might see the Omicron Covid cases reaching around 10 lakh by the end of this month. If the same happens, then the nation might see a disaster. As a thing to worry about, the famous Research Institution London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine predicted that by April 2022, the casualties caused by Omicron might reach 25,000 to 75,000.

The United Kingdom which is in a bothering situation has swung into action and is making efforts to administer a booster dose for the people by January-end 2022. The process had started already. For this, more teams would be deployed and additional vaccination centers would come in place like a shot in the arm for the government's plans.
