Under Construction Mughal Museum In Agra To Be Renamed After Great Maratha Emperor
Bharatiya Janata Party leader, serving Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath who chaired a review meeting to discuss the development works in Agra surprised everyone with his decisions
Yogi Adityanath took a decision to name the Mughal Museum, which was being constructed in Agra after renowned Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
'How the Mughals can be our heroes,' Yogi Adityanath questioned and took a call to name the Museum in Agra which is in the construction stage as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum.
Backing his decision to rename the museum, Yogi Adityanath maintained that naming the museum after the great Maratha ruler will invoke a feeling of nationalism and self-esteem.
He took to Microblogging site Twitter to announce the idea to rename the Mughal Museum after the Maratha emperor. He tweeted in Hindi.
His Tweet translates to English as follows: "The museum under construction in Agra will be known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The symbols of slavery mentality have no place in your new Uttar Pradesh. Our hero is Shivaji Maharaj. Jai Hind Jai Bharat."
Despite, widespread criticism and backlash, Yogi Adityanatah changed the name of Allahabad to Pragya Raj.
Talking about the Museum, the foundation stone for the construction was laid in January 2016, during the regime of previous Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav along with other projects.
