When the entire country is eagerly waiting for the potential vaccine to cure the Coronavirus pandemic, the union government came up with a piece of news on who will get the vaccine first.
As promised earlier, the union government is firm on its decision to give priority to the frontline warriors and said, in the first phase, they will be vaccinated with the vaccine first.
Talking to the media, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said, once the vaccine is rolled in the country, 3 crore people will be vaccinated in the country, including one crore frontline workers.
He announced the same through his Micrrobloggingsite Twitter. He said, in the first phase of the vaccination drive, the beneficiaries will be provided vaccines which will be of free cost.
"In 1st phase of #COVID19Vaccination free #vaccine shall be provided across the nation to most prioritised beneficiaries that incl 1 crore healthcare & 2 crore frontline workers. Details of how further 27 cr priority beneficiaries are to be vaccinated until July are being finalised (sic)," Dr. Harsh Vardhan tweeted this afternoon.
.It has to be noted that, on Friday, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) received recommendations from the union government's expert panel over emergency use of the Covishield vaccine.
On the other hand, the union government has directed the States and Union Territories to conduct a mock drill for the Coronavirus vaccine drive to identify the problems in the vaccine distribution.
