Union Government is mulling to introduce Aaadhar number-enabled financial transactions with the help of mobile phones towards achieving its goal of Cashless Economy. This was the suggestion made to Centre by the Chief Ministers Committee after its first meeting on Thursday.
Director General of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Ajay Pandey declares Aadhaar-enabled transactions are both card-less and pin-less. He informs that Android Phone Users could carry out digital transactions using Aadhaar number and Fingerprint/Iris Authentication.
This mission could be successfully accomplished only with the active participation of banks, mobile phone manufacturers and traders. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant already asked mobile companies to figure out if all the mobiles made in the country could be equipped with iris or thumb identification system.
