Internal politics in Palnadu's Vinukonda assembly constituency have become a major source of headache for the ruling YSRCP these days. Two key leaders are now engaged in intense grouping and each is trying to weaken the other. This is leading to confusion and panic in the YSRCP in Vinukonda. It is showing signs of spilling over to neighbouring assembly constituencies too.
Senior YSRCP leader Makkena Mallikarjuna Rao has grown in the ranks of the Congress party and made a name for himself in the party. Later, he joined the YSRCP and worked for its victory. But the party ticket was given to Bolla Brahmanayudu. Nayudu played a key role in the victory of Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency's MP candidate.
Now Makkena is increasingly feeling that Brahma Naidu is marginalising him. He feels that the MLA is resorting to vendetta politics. Due to MLA's intervention, the fish tank business of Makkena was badly hit. Similarly, the issue of the loans he had taken from the cooperative society has also been used to weaken him. Makkena Mallikarjuna Rao and his followers feel that the MLA is doing this deliberately to weaken him.
With both the groups clashing frequently, the YSRCP cadre in the constituency are a confused lot. They do not know whom to approach and who to support. The dispute has reportedly been taken to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Internal sources say that Jagan has asked Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy to talk to both the parties in the dispute. Iet's wait and watch how things unfold.
