Actor Vishal has grown into a popular leader figure in Tamil Nadu after his emergence as the strong leader in Nadigar Sangam and Tamil Film Producers Council. He decided to go against Sarath Kumar and won the election against the politically influential members who formed a strong alliance.
He then decided to fight against piracy and took the chance to send off the established bigwigs at the Tamil Film Producers Council and became the President of the young council heads. In a surprise turn of events, he decided to contest as an Independent in RK Nagar bi-election, the seat constituted by late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalitha. Before going to file his nomination he visited Jayalaltha's memorial and with that also visited Kamaraj , Anna Durai and MGR memorials.
After filing the nomination he talked about his intention behind getting into politics. He said, "I have decided to work for public as their servant and not as a ruler. Politicians started fighting for the chair and power, forgetting the real problems and issues of the public. Me being a part of the public, reacting to this negligence of different politicians to help my people and bring a progressive change in our lives. I am not hear for any power. I don't care if I win or lose. I will continue fighting for the basic issues of the people in keeping Jayalaltha's fighting spirit as my driving force.
"RK Nagar is just a starting point and my goal is to bring smile on each and every Tamil person in the world. It is only possible when Farmers fighting in Delhi will get their due. Also, Jalli kattu should be encouraged as part of our culture but not seen as Violence against animals and a violent sport. Khushboo, Arya, Prakash Raj have already gave their full support to me and I am planning to meet Kamal Haasan sir in few days. I am here to help people and fight for all the issues keeping Abdul Kalam and Delhi CM, Aravind Kejriwal as my inspirations." Vishal also promised that he will never leave the hands of people even if he wins or loses as he is just a public servant.
