Till he began dabbling in politics, Sonthineni Sivaji was a decent performer who regaled us with some delectable performances. But, he began bartering his film career and the popularity he has earned at the altar of caste frenzy. He suddenly became a pro-TDP voice and began becoming 'His Master's Voice' for the TDP. Not just that. He paired up with Ravi Prakash and the TV9 began giving him more coverage that merits his stature. It was he and Ravi Prakash who paired up to promote TDP due to their caste affiliation and began talking about fake issues like Garuda Puranam. The other caste-based media too followed suit and Sivaji became an over-night sensation. He worked for the TDP in the facade of neutrality. He indirectly tried to show that only the TDP could save the state and asked people not to vote for the YSRCP.
Now that his links with Ravi Prakash and the TDP were exposed, he is trying to play the victim card. He is now telling YouTube channels run by his community that he is being harassed because of his political opinions. It was during this interview that he has revealed how he acquired shares in TV9. He said out of friendship, Ravi Prakash offered him 40000 shares of TV 9 to him, but he did not want to take them for free. So, he paid Rs 20 lakh for it. This means, he got TV9 shares at Rs 50, which is dirt cheap. Given the normal market value of TV 9 shares, this transaction could at best be termed as a benami transaction. Or was the price Sivaji was paid for working for the TDP.
So, this is the real story behind Sivaji-Ravi Prakash friendship. BTW, now expect Sivaji to say more things about things like Garuda Purana on YouTube channels with a 'yellow' tinge.
