WHO issues clarification on video which claims India will see 50,000 Covid-19 deaths by April 15
Like all the countries, India is also suffering from the second wave of the novel Coronavirus. The fresh infections and casualties are increasing with each day passing raising several fears and concerns.
Following this a video claiming that the global health agency World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that, by the 15th of April, India will witness 50,000 Covid-19 deaths. The video went viral.
With the video going coral, the WHO issued a clarification stating that the video claiming WHO's warnings on the Covid-19 related deaths in India is Fake News and said the WHo has not issued any warnings.
"A video claiming WHO has warned of 50,000 Covid-19 deaths in India by April 15 is FAKE NEWS. WHO has NOT issued any such warning," Regional Office for South-East Asia (SEARO) said in its tweet.
In the last 24 hours, Tuesday added 96,982 new cases and 446 fatalities taking the total infections and casualties to over 12.68 million and 165,547 respectively. The other day, India added more than 1 lakh cases. After the United States, India is the only country to report more than one lakh cases in a single day.
